Offered at the January 21-29, 2023, Scottsdale Auction with No Reserve:
This Pro-Touring 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window coupe received a complete restoration and a custom one-of-a kind build from the ground-up. This high-quality build was designed to appear as though this car was built and sold today in order to compete with the finest Italian supercars. It was built to maintain the car’s factory-original identity while injecting it with a modern appearance, power, performance and passenger comfort.
The build started with a clean, original factory GM body that was rotisserie-restored and upgraded with the latest in modern technology. It was built on a custom SRIII Motorsports chassis fitted with C5 suspension and Baer 6-piston brakes on 14-inch cross-drilled rotors for maximum stopping power. The rear is a Dana 44 equipped with a 3.73 gear ratio and heavy-duty rear axles. The chassis is equipped with coilover shocks with adjustable ride control. Steering is accomplished by a power rack & pinion system and a Flaming River steering column. Power is provided by a Mast Motorsports Black Label LS7 engine that produces 665hp and 575 ft/lbs torque, mated to a TREMEC TKO 5-speed transmission to keep the interior tunnel size down. This engine is cooled by a Dewitt aluminum radiator and the passenger compartment is cooled by a Restomod Air system. It connects to the asphalt with Centennial-Edition Corvette 19×10 wheels up front and 20×12 wheels in the rear, with meaty 335/25/20 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.
The tailored interior impresses with custom Italian black leather with red double-stitching and matching carpet. The custom carbon dash and door panels matched the car’s extensive engineering and fabrication time to accomplish the seamless tucked side-exit exhaust. The exterior is expertly finished in miles-deep black paint and optioned with tucked bumpers, a custom front spoiler and a custom rear diffuser. Keeping with the modern style, it also has custom side mirrors and front turn signal driving lights. The custom Competition Sound system is sure to impress with updated GPS mapping, MP3 and Bluetooth capabilities, along with upgraded shoulder harness seat belts for safety.
