2021 Honda Passport Review, Ratings, Specs, Prices, and Photos

The 2021 Honda Passport punches a ticket for drivers who imagine the 3-row Pilot’s for large households and the smaller CR-V’s for couch potatoes.

With the Passport, Honda trims the Pilot’s fats and provides a 5-seat, two-row crossover SUV that’s not really hardcore, but picks up its off-highway match to sq. off against autos like the Subaru Outback and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Familiar, good, smooth, and roomy, the 2021 Pilot receives a TCC Rating of six., dragged down relatively by sparse attributes on the base Sport. (Read extra about how we level autos.)

Review carries on beneath

The Passport begins lifestyle as a Pilot, minus six inches of overall body. It grows a distinctive roofline, a blacked-out chin, and tougher overall body cladding, but the cabin’s nearly the exact. It’s not so adventurous as a Bronco or Wrangler, but the large 20-inch wheels and roof rails mail some of the exact outdoorsy alerts.

The Passport’s 280-horsepower V-six arrives from the Pilot, far too, and its rippling and muscular sound and acceleration filter through a nine-speed computerized that receives indecisive at situations, not sure of no matter whether to upshift for better fuel mileage or downshift for the mild highway quality in advance. The Passport’s better at muting that highway and tackling mild curves with a perfectly-damped trip it’ll clamber more than Moab’s red rocks devoid of far too significantly agita, but it’s happier receiving to the trailhead than it is selecting its way more than the trail.

Honda grants Pilot-like area to 5 men and women in the Passport rear seats and rear-seat area are especially superior, as is storage within the Passport’s heart console. The front seats could use extra form, but the expansive cargo keep maxes out all-around seventy eight cubic toes if you can fill it for a weekend jaunt, you’re possibly on the tiny-home vector and just don’t know it but.

Both equally the IIHS and NHTSA say superior items about the Passport’s crash basic safety, and computerized crisis braking arrives on just about every model. The Passport Sport helps make do with a modest five.-inch audio and rearview-digicam screen, when the EX-L receives leather-based, blind-location screens, and an eight.-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It’s our pick of the Passport line, the way we’d pick out to sail through customs, all for about $38,000.
