2022 Hyundai Kona N spy shots reveal grille, sideskifts, other details

The approaching 2022 Hyundai Kona N has been noticed once again. This time it was in the vicinity of the Nürburgring and putting on a great deal considerably less camouflage. As a consequence, we have our most effective glimpse but at “Kona the Destroyer,” with peeks at the grille and front fascia as nicely as other information.

The nose is remarkably uncovered, which presents us a glimpse at the new grille. It appears broader and more upswept than the latest a single. Not only that, but it’s not as tall, with a thick area dividing it from the reduced air inlet. The distinct slot higher than the grille appears to be long gone, far too. The changes are extraordinary plenty of to make us question if the regular Kona will be refreshed to be closer to the N product. The major grille insert is really open for loads of air flow, and the mesh sample has a good deal of depth.

Relocating to the sides, we get a glimpse at what are almost certainly the generation wheels for the Kona N. The spokes form some attractive concentric stars. As previously witnessed, these wheels dwelling noticeably larger brakes than regular Kona. The side skirts are generally exposed, and they never glimpse a great deal more intense than the common car’s. It does glimpse like the doorways never get as a great deal plastic entire body cladding higher than the skirts.

At the back again, the rear wing is fully exposed. It exhibits that the Kona N will get the signature triangular brake light-weight like the Kona N and European i30 N. The rear diffuser panel is also uncovered and it’s tall with intense slats. Even with the whole diffuser in check out, the tailpipes nonetheless glimpse really massive.

When the Kona N launches, it must both get the turbocharged 2.-liter engine from the Veloster N in 250- and 275-horsepower variants, or perhaps the turbocharged 2.five-liter engine rumored for the Veloster and coming to the Sonata N-Line and Kia K5 GT. That engine will make 290 horsepower in the midsize sedans. It will almost certainly be obtainable with both a 6-speed manual or eight-speed twin-clutch computerized. We are going to also be curious to see if the Kona N is offered with all-wheel contemplating its status as a crossover. We count on it to be uncovered someday following calendar year in time for the 2022 product calendar year.
