2023 Lexus LX SUV price increases $915, adds heated steering wheel

The 2023 Lexus LX 600 full-size SUV gets a modest price increase following its 2022 redesign, and adds a standard heated steering wheel and covers for the rear-seat entertainment system, Lexus announced last week.

The flagship SUV with three rows of seats and the capacity to haul seven people costs $89,160, including a $1,345 destination fee. That’s a $915 price increase from the 2022 Lexus LX, but the top Ultra Luxury model with its limo-like reclining and massaging rear seats tops out at $129,250, which is an increase of $1,905.

The largest Lexus shares a truck platform and powertrain with the 2022 Toyota Tundra pickup, but lacks a hybrid option, for now. Essentially filling the gap left in the absence of a Toyota Land Cruiser, the 2023 Lexus LX 600 uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 that makes 409 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Nearly 35% more efficient than its predecessor’s V-8, the Lexus LX with four-wheel-drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission rates at 17 mpg city, 22 highway, 19 combined.

The base model comes with five seats and rides on 20-inch alloy wheels. It features a power sunroof, leather upholstery, heated power front seats, a heated steering wheel, and four-zone climate control. A dual-screen interface is topped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen with smartphone compatibility and a wireless charger, while the lower 7.0-inch screen handles climate controls.

At $97,110, the LX 600 Premium adds two seats for a cramped third row that power folds into a flat floor for more storage, but the headrests need to be manually lowered with a pull strap. Upgrades include cooled front seats, heated outboard second-row seats, and a hands-free power liftgate. Six drive modes automatically adjust suspension, steering, and transmission settings.

The $103,370 F Sport Handling model stands out with a new exterior color called Nori Green Pearl. It has 22-inch wheels and sportier styling with a black mesh grille and other black accent pieces. It has a limited-slip center locking differential, firmer dampers, and a rear stabilizer bar meant to offset some lean from the big SUV.

The Luxury grade costs $105,110 and sticks with the 22-inch wheels, a heated wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel, a center console cooler, semi-aniline leather upholstery, and a Mark Levinson 3D surround-sound system.

The Ultra Luxury model tops the lineup at $129,250, and it comes with just four seats. The rear power and massaging seats meet power ottomans that unfold from the front seatbacks. An active suspension with hydraulic springs raises or lowers the suspension by about four inches.

The 2023 Lexus LX 600 goes on sale at the end of this year.
