Ford Motor Co reported Monday it has joined the Initiative for Accountable Mining Assurance, which aims to endorse use of 3rd-occasion assessments of mining methods to guard human legal rights.
Ford reported its prepared investment decision in electric vehicles would boost the firm’s reliance on mined materials, notably linked to output of EV batteries. As a part of the initiative, Ford would collaborate with brands across the business to endorse accountable mining.
IRMA provides 3rd-occasion verification and certification of mining methods to guard human legal rights, communities and surroundings along the source chain. Final calendar year, German luxurious automaker BMW joined the initiative.
