NHTSA wants more children transported in rear-facing car seats

WASHINGTON — U.S. car security regulators on Thursday proposed revising recommendations to increase the number of youngsters age one or younger who are transported in rear-struggling with automobile seats.

NHTSA is proposing to propose that all youngsters 26.5 lbs . or a lot less are transported in rear-struggling with automobile seats rather than the current suggestion for youngsters twenty lbs . or a lot less.

The agency states it is “significantly safer” for younger youngsters to be rear-struggling with than ahead-struggling with in a crash.
