Gefco installs 290 e-Totem charging points on European compounds

Gefco says it is in the ultimate phase of a challenge to set up 290 EV charging stations on compounds throughout Europe.

Produced by e-Totem, the facilities will enable carmakers and sellers cost vehicles prior to supply to end-prospects.

Installed in phases, 145 new charging stations will be operational by the end of 2021 on 23 Gefco compounds in eight European international locations: Belgium (Ghislenghien), Czech Republic (Kolin), France (Blyes, Le Havre, Hordain, Marckolsheim, Marly-la-Ville, Mulhouse, Nantueuil, Poissy, Rennes, Sochaux and Valenton), Italy (Livorno and Parma), Portugal (Setubal) and Slovakia (Trnava), Spain (Ciempozuelos and Tarragone) and the British isles (Sandtoft and Sheerness).

“The changeover to greener fuel demands big investments in new infrastructure,” explained Gefco director of Industrial Automobile Flows, Albert Bouchoucha.

“These new EV charging stations will supply a strengthen to EV manufacturers and dealerships and we’re delighted to be helping our prospects adapt to need, true to our ‘Partners, unlimited’ tradition.”

Mobilising a workforce of forty GEFCO workforce, the EUR7m (US$seven.9m) challenge was launched in 2020 in response to growth in the EV current market following the introduction of world-wide incentives to speed up the changeover to zero-emission technologies.

Gefco notes this has designed a new challenge: to allow provide-chain suppliers such as by itself to major up batteries of new EVs at their compounds on ask for, prior to supply to dealerships and end-prospects.

Gefco teamed up with e-Totem to style and design and create two sorts of charging stations, DC50kW superchargers and AC22kW accelerated chargers. These have touch-display, multilingual controls and are linked to a central administration system by 3G/4G with Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) for reside supervision.

With the technologies, Gefco teams can set the amount of cost to inside of 1%, monitor it with smartphones, making sure battery concentrations under no circumstances fall to zero and invoice the exact charge of the electrical power applied to cost the vehicles.

The logistics operator maintains the attributes offer a “significant improvement” on common charging stations, which can neither predefine a amount of cost nor cease charging mechanically, meaning they generally carry on right up until entire cost.

“We’re delighted to have labored with Gefco on this challenge, bringing customised, 100% French-built and manufactured electrical car or truck charging stations to sites throughout Europe,” included e-Totem CEO, Hervé Sonneville.

“Since the 1st times of our corporation in 2012, we’ve continuously innovated and adapted our answers to our customers’ requirements.”
