GM taps Craig Glidden to lead global public policy; comblined role streamlines EV plans

DETROIT — Normal Motors has promoted Craig Glidden to executive vice president of world community coverage, the automaker claimed Friday.

The advertising, successful June 1, will be mixed with Glidden’s current function as normal counsel. Glidden, 63, will report to GM CEO Mary Barra.

“Craig has a tested monitor document of making associations and strengthening teams and performs a critical function on GM’s senior leadership team driving our firm’s eyesight for an all-electrical future,” Barra claimed in a statement. “Effective dialogue and partnerships with world leaders and policymakers are a lot more vital than at any time as we establish a a lot more inclusive and sustainable future.”

The mixed function will streamline GM’s EV programs, GM claimed in a statement.

Glidden will also oversee the appointment of a new world community coverage senior executive to replace Everett Eissenstat, who programs to go away GM Aug. 1 to pursue other options, GM claimed. Eissenstat, fifty seven, has been vice president of world community coverage since 2018. His alternative will report to Glidden.

GM employed Glidden as normal counsel in 2015. Before joining GM’s ranks, Glidden was executive vice president and main legal officer for LyondellBasell Industries, a plastics, chemical compounds and refining organization. He was also senior vice president, normal counsel and corporate secretary of Chevron Phillips Chemical.
