Interestingly, Ferrari’s second Icona car was originally going to launch in 2022, but Chief Financial Officer Antonio Picca Piccon said the launch was moved forward due to the “strong customer needs for a new Icona, which we felt the responsibility to satisfy.” Piccon added that deposits for the new Icona will be taken in 2022.

Ferrari’s Icona series is aimed at “brand ambassadors” who already own multiple Ferraris. As such, the leaked media invite was sent to a Ferrari Monza owner in a presentation box with a gated gear shifter as a gift. Ferrari describes Icona models as having the “timeless design of iconic Ferraris reinterpreted with innovative materials and state-of-the-art technologies.” Revealed in 2018, the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 were inspired by the 1948 166 MM Barchetta and 1954 750 Monza open-top racers.
