INDIANAPOLIS – Takuma Sato has received his 2nd Indianapolis 500 right after Spencer Pigot crashed greatly exiting Turn four, bringing out the caution with five laps remaining and forcing what had been a thrilling race to close underneath caution.
Following dominating most of the race, Scott Dixon had been chasing Sato for about 15 laps and was commencing to chunk into a hole that had emerged in lapped targeted visitors. But the race finished when Pigot spun into the outside wall, then crossed again throughout the keep track of and slammed into the safety tires that guard the entrance to pit lane.
Pigot exited the auto but was served onto a stretcher. His auto was still left in parts throughout the entrance extend.
Dixon pulled up along with Sato with Graham Rahal, his teammate, on the other aspect to finish 3rd.
