When Burt Reynolds drove a Dodge ambulance all through the film, it was the 1979 Countach LP 400 S that received the cross-state race in the movie. It also showcased prominently in the film’s opening scene rushing across the Las Vegas desert with law enforcement in hot pursuit. For its part in the film, the Countach was modified with a entrance spoiler, twin spotlights, three antennas, and twelve exhaust pipes.
Soon after filming wrapped up, the Countach was purchased by Ron Rice, founder of the sunscreen model Hawaiian Tropic renowned for its motorsport sponsorships. Rice was besotted with the Countach as before long as he saw it and retained it till 2004. It was then bought to Jeff Ippoliti, a Florida-based attorney and hardcore Lamborghini supporter who nevertheless owns it these days.
