HYUNDAI Motor Enterprise Australia (HMCA) a short while ago introduced the new i30 Sedan to the Australian marketplace as a replacement for its sluggish-advertising Elantra, a compact sedan made available in the exact same phase as the at any time-common i30 hatch.
To check out and inject some far more revenue action into the phase and help overhaul the Toyota Corolla as the king of the sub-$40,000 compact car or truck phase, HMCA made the decision to rebadge the new fourth-generation Elantra as the i30 Sedan and capitalise on the nameplate’s level of popularity.
The thing is although, the i30 Sedan isn’t an i30 – it rides on a completely various system for starters and shares none of the hatch’s panels on major of being a whole 310mm extended.
We ended up curious as to if this new more substantial offering was deserving of wearing the i30 badge or if it would be better off sticking with the Elantra nameplate right after all.
